Marinara Sauce (with cooking video)

This is a super easy and delicious marinara sauce recipe! You may never need to purchase jarred pasta sauce again!

Ingredients
  • 4 Tbsp Extra Virgin olive oil
  • 2 large (26oz) cans of Tomato sauce (non-flavored)
  • 1 Large (26oz) can of Diced Tomatos
  • 1½ - 2 cups diced onions ( ~1large onion)
  • 1 large red bell pepper, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 3-4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 4 Tbsp Italian Seasoning
  • 1 tsp Anise seeds
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • ½ tsp (heaping) Anchovy paste (is a must!)
  • Pinch of Sea Salt
  • Fresh Ground Pepper
Instructions
  1. Add Olive oil to a large dutch oven. Add onions, peppers, garlic, and seasonings to pan and stir together.
  2. Add chicken broth and canned tomatoes, stir to combine well.
  3. Add Anchovy paste
  4. Allow to cook for about 30 minutes until it get thicker and the veggies are all soft and tender.
  5. Enjoy now and place in freezer safe containers to enjoy later!
