6 Pears (1-1/2 per person) Any kind will do, but don't get them too large or your pie crust won't fit
3 rolls of flat pre-made pie crust
½cup brown sugar
6 Tbsp butter
1tsp Cinnamon
¼ cup Walnuts
½cup water
½ cup white sugar
1 Orange peel
Optional: Egg Nog
Instructions
Core each pear, leaving top on and about 1inch at the top (careful here, it's easy to pop the top off)
Peel each pear - reserve the peels for simple syrup
Melt butter and mix with Brown sugar, walnut pieces and cinnamon
Stuff 1 pear with about 1 Tbsp of brown sugar mixture
Cut pie crust in half. And using rolling pin, make slightly bigger
Place stuffed Pear on Pie crust and gently wrap in pie crust. Tear off any excess dough and wrap around bottom, to ensure stuffing doesn't come out.
Repeat with all the Pear and place in buttered baking dish.
Bake in 375degree oven for 40 minutes
After 40minutes place foil on top to keep from over browning.
While Pears are baking, place peels, water, sugar and orange peel in a sauce pan and bring to a slow boil to make simple syrup. Just before pouring on pears, remove the peels from syrup.
Pour Syrup over pears and Serve.
Optional: I added about 2 Tbsp of egg nog to each pear and it was awesome, so I highly recommend this delicious addition.
