Sally Twellman, RDN
Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN)
Helping people achieve systemic wholeness through functional gut health, inflammatory modulation, and metabolic restoration. I specialize in bridging the gap between clinical science and soul-supportive wellness, helping you resolve the root causes of dysfunction to feel grounded and energized.

Welcome to Sana Nutrition & Wellness
Sana means heal. In many traditions, it reflects the restoration of balance across the body, mind, and spirit. This principle guides my clinical approach: true wellness is not merely the absence of symptoms, but a return to a body that feels like home and a life lived with intentionality.
Clinical Philosophy: A Root-Cause Approach
I utilize a whole-person, functional nutrition framework to address the physiological and psychological drivers of health. My approach moves beyond “band-aid” solutions, focusing instead on:
-
Gastrointestinal Health: Resolving dysbiosis and restoring the integrity of the gut-brain axis.
-
Inflammatory Modulation: Utilizing anti-inflammatory protocols to reduce systemic stress and chronic pain.
-
Metabolic Regulation: Addressing metabolic dysregulation to optimize energy, hormonal balance, and long-term vitality.
-
The Food-Body Relationship: Integrating behavioral nutrition to heal the psychological relationship with food and your body, moving away from restrictive cycles toward intuitive, health-affirming nourishment.
The Intersection of Science & Soul
I bridge the gap for those experiencing complex “red flags”—such as chronic lethargy and digestive distress—that are often overlooked in traditional acute care. By analyzing the intersection of your nutrition, lifestyle, and nervous system, we build a therapeutic roadmap that is both scientifically rigorous and deeply doable for everyone.
About Sally
Based in Austin, Texas, I’ve spent the last 22 years evolving my practice to look at the “whole person.” I understand that health is never just about numbers; it is about the person behind the labs.
When I’m not working with clients, I’m navigating a beautifully chaotic life in Austin with my husband, our three children, and two quirky dogs. My own life is proof that wellness must exist in the real world—amongst the laundry, the busyness, and (ideally) a great plate of local chips and queso.
