Traveling soon? Here’s everything I bring to avoid bloat, constipation, and unexpected tummy troubles—because your gut deserves a smooth trip too.
Vacation is fun. Digestive drama? Not so much. If your stomach tends to act up on the road (hello, bloating, traveler’s diarrhea, or sudden constipation), packing a simple gut-support kit can make all the difference.
After years of trial, error, and some very poorly timed GI issues, I’ve dialed in my go-to list. Here’s what I never travel without—plus a few extras that can save your trip (literally).
The Gut Travel Essentials Kit
1. Probiotic Capsules
Travel can throw off your gut microbiome fast. A shelf-stable probiotic helps support digestion and regularity.
My pick: Probiotic capsules I love

2. Magnesium Citrate
Constipation while traveling is super common (thanks, dehydration and routine changes). Magnesium helps keep things regular without being harsh.
Try: Magnesium packets or capsules for easy packing

3. Electrolyte Powder
Hydration is everything for healthy digestion. Electrolytes help your body absorb water better, especially when flying or in hot weather.
Favorite: Travel-size electrolyte packs

4. Ginger Chews or Tea
Ginger is great for bloating, gas, and nausea. Ginger chews are a must for me when flying or after a heavy meal.
Try: Ginger chews or bring tea bags to steep in your hotel room (And the turmeric in these is great for managing inflammation too.)

5. Digestive Enzymes
Eating rich or unfamiliar foods? Enzymes help your body break things down so you don’t end up with indigestion or bloating.
My go-to: Digestive enzyme blend

6. High-Fiber Travel Snacks
Fiber is your gut’s best friend—but can be hard to find on the go. Packing a few high-fiber options helps you stay regular and supports your gut bacteria.
Snack ideas: Chia bars, high fiber protein bars, dried fruit, roasted chickpeas

7. Tummy Support Essentials
These are the “just in case” items I always throw in my bag:
- DigestZen Essential Oil Blend
- Peppermint oil capsules (for bloating/gas)
- Tissues or travel wipes (self-explanatory)
- Fiber Supplement
Bonus Tips for a Gut-Friendly Trip
- Stick to your normal meal timing when possible
- Get up and move daily—even 10 minutes helps digestion
- Drink water (so much more than you think)
- Don’t skip meals or wait too long to eat
- Build in some downtime to reduce stress (yes, it impacts digestion!)
