Today is National Bake a Cookie Day, and I am so here for it! 🎉🍪 Cookie baking is hands-down one of my favorite Christmas traditions—there’s nothing like the smell of fresh-baked goodness wafting through the house. So, in the spirit of the season, here are some of my all-time favorite holiday cookies (and cookie-adjacent friend, peppermint bark).
Sugar Cookies – These are a must in our house! Since my kids were little, we’ve had cookie-decorating parties with their friends. With bowls of frosting, sprinkles everywhere (literally), and the most creative (read: messy) cookies you’ve ever seen. It’s a holiday highlight every year. (actual picture of the little sugar cookiue gems made every year!)
Snowballs – These are my personal favorite—like little bites of buttery magic. Bonus points for the powdered sugar dusting that makes them look so festive.
White Chocolate Peppermint Cookies – Pepperminty, and absolutely delicious. These are a festive showstopper and taste as good as they look.
Peppermint Bark (not technically a cookie, but hey, who’s keeping track?) – The perfect sweet addition to any cookie tray. Layers of chocolate and pepperminty goodness? Yes, please.
Classic Chocolate Chip – For my husband, the cookie purist. No fancy bells and whistles, just a good ol’ chocolate chip cookie—because sometimes, less really is more.
Lumps of Coal – These are so fun! We make ours with gluten-free Oreos (because that’s how we roll). They’re perfect for gifting to friends and neighbors—because honestly, who hasn’t been a little naughty this year? 😉
Cranberry Pistachio Biscotti – These are the fancy cookies on the tray. They’re amazing dipped in coffee or tea and add a little extra flair to the cookie plates we give as gifts.
So, what are you baking today? Let’s get those ovens fired up and make some delicious holiday memories! 🎄✨
