On the day after Thanksgiving, I wanted to share one of my favorite practices in Gratitude with you.
You know how, sometimes you can get totally wrapped up in planning for the future and wishing for new things you want, that you forget to see for all those things you use to want and that you already have?
I know I do.
So today, I want to share with you a beautiful, yet simple exercise if gratitude.
Ok, sit down and make a list of all the things you love in your life, that you already have.
Here is mine…
- A partner in life, who I love and who I know, loves me.
- Some cute kiddos to cherish
- A safe place to live
- A beautiful, comfortable home, with working heat, a/c and running water
- The ability to put money away for a rainy day
- Good friends to spend my free time with
- A thriving business and the time to work on it
- Those really cool Ray-ban sunglasses, I had my eye on for a while
- Cheese, all kinds.
- A Sweet Mini-van that is all paid off
- Parents that are healthy and happy in retirement
- My really great Baby-lock sewing machine that I don’t use often enough
- A new floppy-eared puppy
- To be a woman who can dream of something bigger and have the opportunity to make it happen
- The Sunshine
- Plenty of open space to explore
- Living close to a lake
- The ability to move and use my body
- Tea, both hot and cold
- Coffee, both hot and cold
- Hot running water
- A fireplace
I could go on, but I think you get the idea..
Ok, now read it back to yourself and put the phrase “I want” in front of each one.
How does that feel?
Really good, huh?
It makes me feel really good and super lucky.
I am blessed.
Don’t forget to create something magical today!
XOXO,
Sally
