Pumpkin, pumpkin everywhere! And I love it! That’s because not only is pumpkin delicious, but it is also really nutritious. Pumpkin is high in antioxidants like Vitamin A, Vitamin C and Vitamin E, and in minerals like copper, calcium and phosphorus. It is also a really good source of B vitamins like folate and B6, which promote healthy cell growth – and that decreases cancer risk and helps pregnant women grow healthy babies.
Also, the bright orange color of pumpkin is created by beta carotene, which among other things helps promote a healthy and robust immune system. And that is much-needed as we roll into cold and flu season!
One of the best things about pumpkin? You can use it in so many different, delectable ways – breads, side dishes, even the roasted seeds! If you like yours baked into a pie, then you won’t want to miss out on this amazing pumpkin pie smoothie. Simple to make and take, and chock full of all the incredible nutrients I listed above, this recipe is a taste sensation that will leave the pumpkin spice lover in you satisfied – and leave your immune system happy, too!
Now, without further adieu, onto the smoothie!
