Refreshing perspectives for a balanced life
April 8, 2025

Good Morning!

Spring is springin’, and We are in sport-mode right now. My daughters are playing sports all over Texas, which means every weekend we’re road-trippin” to a new city. We are living our best chauffeur with snacks—and I gotta say, shoutout to my hybrid van for keeping things eco-friendly and very mom-core chic. Yes, I said it. Van life is a vibe and I’m not mad about it.

💛 Wellness

Wellness Tip of the Week

Magnesium is straight-up magic. Sleep struggles? Mood swings? Gut issues? Magnesium is your girl.

I love magnesium-OM, and I also love Calm. They make great gummies or a soothing powder you can mix into water at night. Or grab some magnesium glycinate—most adults feel fab around 400mg/day. Just check with your doctor if you’re unsure!

🗞 In the News

Okay, the news this week? Buckle up.

🗞The economy is in free fall. largely due to Trump’s tariffs and this new trade war. Economists and markets around the world are officially “nervous“. It’s ok, though, Trump says it’s good Medicine while on his golf trip this weekend

🗞A man legally living in the U.S. was deported to a prison in El Salvador, and now the government is saying they can’t bring him back. The Supreme Court sided with the administration. I wish I were making this up.

🗞Cory Booker gave a 25-hour speech (yes, you read that right) on the Senate floor, calling out injustice and trying to shake us awake.

🗞Student visas are being revoked without universities being told, likely due to student protests. This one feels extra sketchy.

🗞Over 1,400 protests erupted across the U.S. and globally in response to what organizers are calling a “hostile takeover” of American freedoms by Trump and Elon Musk.

Whew. Deep breaths. Hydrate. And maybe let’s all call our reps.

🧽 What Else?

Best Cleaning Hacks Ever!

I fell into this cleaning rabbit hole and now I am changing my ways. Vacuum the blinds? Genius. I usually hit mine with a Swiffer, but I’ll be trying that out. Also: lemons for soap scum?? I love natural cleaning hacks!

🛍 On My Radar – Amazon Deals

Some great finds this week if you’re in shopping mode:

🌼 Good Stuff

Wild horses can help prevent wildfires! The herds that live in Galicia, Spain, graze on flammable undergrowth that could easily fuel wildfires. It’s no wonder they’re adored by residents. Click here to watch them in action!

Time get out your cuddle bear, it’s nothing to be ashamed of and a study shows it may help you sleep better!

💭 Something to Think About

“If it doesn’t challenge you, it won’t change you.” – Fred DeVito

I was doing a workout with Peloton the other day, and she said this—and it hit. (Shoutout to one of my favorite instructors, Jess Sims.)

It’s true in the gym, but also in life. Challenges are massive catalysts for growth. Sometimes we choose them (hello, new job, big goals, early morning workouts), and sometimes they’re handed to us by life or the universe or just…chaos. But either way, you have the ability to rise to the occasion and make something good out of it—even if it’s not what you would’ve chosen.

So, here’s a little reflection: If you’re in a hard spot right now, what if it’s here to shape you into the next version of yourself? One that’s stronger, clearer, braver, more grounded? How can you use what’s hard right now to create something better for future you?

You’ve got this. 💛

Until next time,
Stay grounded, stay informed, and always look on the bright side!
