This Week’s Lemonade: Boost Your Mood, Beat the Heat, and Stay True to You

Refreshing perspectives for a balanced life
Published: May 6, 2025

Good Morning, Friends! We had a big weekend at our house. My daughter had her 13th birthday party (why are they growing up so fast?!), and she hosted a pool party (theme, glow in the dark disco, 🤣 her choice) with ten of her closest friends. Of course, a chilly little cold front rolled in, so it quickly became a hot tub party—which they still loved! Meanwhile, my son went to prom, which was such a special milestone… aside from the part where his alternator died on the way. Thankfully, we did a quick car swap, and he made it just in time, boutonnière and all.

These little moments—the beautiful, the stressful, the chaotic—are what life is made of. And they always seem to remind me to slow down, breathe, and find the joy tucked in the mess.

💛 Wellness Tip: Daily Movement Really Matters

Let’s talk about movement. Not workouts, necessarily—just movement. Moving your body every day helps regulate mood, digestion, energy levels, sleep, and even immune function. And no, you don’t need to run a 10K to benefit. A walk around the block, stretching before bed, or even dancing in your kitchen while making dinner (guilty!) can do wonders. Every little bit counts!

Movement is medicine, and consistency is the prescription.

Here are a few headlines that caught my attention this week—some strange, some sobering, all worth a read:

🍋 What Else

Here are some helpful, hopeful, or just plain fun things I came across this week:

💭 Something to Think About

“You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.” — Buddha

This is your gentle reminder that self-love isn’t indulgent—it’s essential. You’re worthy of care, compassion, and kindness, not just from others, but from yourself.

Thanks for spending a little time with me today. I hope something in here brightens your week, gets you thinking, or makes your life just a little easier.

Stay grounded, stay informed, and always look on the bright side!🍋
