Vibrant Vintage Baby Shower

Vibrant-Vintage-Baby-Shower

I love to par-tay! Heeeey!

I love attending parties, but I really enjoy being part of the party planning committee.  :)  I love the opportunity to create something pretty!

This past weekend, I had the chance to co-host a lovely baby shower for my beautiful friend Leah.  And because Leah is Vibrant and a lover of all things Vintage, we decided to create a shower around a loose Vintage theme with lots of color. This is actually perfect for me, because it really allowed me to tap into my inner old lady, meaning I was able to make a frothy 60’s style punch in my Mimi’s antique punch bowl, serve Chicken Salad on Croissants, fruit salad and in place of the normal cupcakes, we (created by the talented Melisa) served Mini Pies, Creme Puffs and Almond Roca.  But sadly, my co-hosts weren’t over enthusiastic a crustless Pimento Cheese sandwiches (frankly I am baffled by the aversion to pimento cheese, I love the stuff!), so they were left off the menu. Oh well, you win some you lose some.

It was a really fun, simple and beautiful shower!

The Decor

Thanks Pinterest for so many ideas!

We used this picture as our Color Palette via The Wedding Club.com

The beautiful teal, white with red wall of streamers behind the food table was inspired by this beautiful post on Cococozy.com. The streamers we used simple paper streamers of a few colors of tealwhitechrome and red, tied to the curtain rod and allowed to hang just below the edge of the table.  For the table decorations we just used a large bunch of red spray roses I found at a local store and some paper lanterns found online and at a local craft store (similar to these herehere and here), and all these colors popped because of the brightness of lovely white table cloth I found here.  Using a white table cloth is actually one of my favorite decorating “tip”, I think it gives the table a fresh, crispness.

Created the little simple Diaper cake using this one for inspiration
