Weekly Menu November 3 – 9

www.twellmannutrition

Ok, so yesterday morning I woke up really, really excited! You wanna know why?  The Holiday season is upon us!   The Holiday season in my book is made up of Thanksgiving and Christmas, which begins November 1st , the day after Halloween.  Don’t get me wrong, I think Halloween is fun, but it doesn’t have anything on the  joy, merriment and general cheerfulness of the holidays! It’s a beautiful thing and so fun!  The only down side to the Holiday season is that it can add a new level of stress and time constraint and often has an over-abundance of treats. Which together can really cause us to lose focus on our health and fitness goals.  This doesn’t have to be the case, we just have to work hard to allow for treats at appropriate times and eat healthy, wholesome and balanced most of the time.  🙂  And don’t forget to maintain your normal exercise routine during this time. This is really important to help your body continue to run optimally, by maintaining a good metabolism, proper hormone use and neurotransmitters production (this is just the tip of the iceberg of the benefits you will get/maintain)

And because we still have to feed ourselves and our families in a healthy way during this time, don’t neglect your meal planning 🙂  So on that note, here is the menu for this week 🙂

Monday:  Turkey Fajitas  with side salad.  I know it feels like I make these every week, but my hubby requests them every week, so it’s a good thing they are easy, quick and tasty!

Tuesday:  Chicken Soup with Spaetzle – Using the Chicken soup recipe here with the left over Spaetzle  from this weekend

Wednesday: Family Cheese Plate and Tapas night.  This is a new thing for us.  Wednesday nights are super full for us, with sports practices, night classes and I need to fit a workout in some how, so my solution is to bring a cheese and tapas picnic to have between class and Drew’s football practice. Like I said, this is new, so I will let you know how it goes!

Thursday: Tuscan Kale with Sausage Pasta with Roasted Broccoli

Friday: Eating Dinner with Family 🙂

Saturday:  Flying by the seat of our pants…kids and I will be driving back from visiting family out of town.  Andy will be killin’ it at Tour de Gruene.  Let’s all wish him luck!

Sunday: Good Ole Shepard’s Pie with Roasted Brussels Sprouts

Have a great week friends!
