The Power of Postive Daily Practices

“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.” – Aristotle

This is absolutely what I have found to be true about myself and my clients.

You become what you practice consistently…both good and bad.

You become what you practice consistently.

And I believe that it’s daily practice  that is the gap between inspiration and action. And sadly this gap is where most people exist in the pursuit of their goals.

Whatever that thing is, that you want to change, shift or improve, the way you make a lasting shift in yourself is by taking daily action towards that goal…even the small stuff counts!

Daily action = Momentum and Change

So if you want to lose weight and get fit , you have to take small action daily toward those goals, by eating healthy, unprocessed foods and being physically activity, everyday. I don’t mean you have to run 5 miles everyday and eat only salads day in and day out.  What I mean is  some days you will be on the top of your health and fitness game, with 100% healthy eating and vigorous activity and some days you may only be at 50% on the eating and only going on a 10 minute afternoon walk.  Most days will be in the middle of those two…but you will take action everyday.  And the more consistent you are with your wellness strategy and positive action, the quicker you will reach your goals. And the cumulative effect of that action, is what counts over time.

This principle also applies to creating successful, positive mindset. And creating a success growth Mindset is one the most important skills to learn.

This is where having non negotiable positive daily habits, as a part of your morning routine is so important to set yourself up for success.

I talked more about Positive Daily Habits in this Facebook Live – Conversation starter .

My morning ritual is really non-negotiable, especially on the week days. Here is what it looks like…

  • Make my bed – it feels so good to accomplish something first thing in the morning  (more about this HERE)
  • Brush my teeth right away – I like that clean feeling right away
  • Meditation – at least 10 minutes. Sometimes I incorporate Yoga into my meditation
  • Set my Intention  – I decide how I want to feel that day, we have the power to decide how we want our mental space to be for the day. Examples of this are Peace, calm, happy, joyful, focused.
  • Coffee.  I luuuuuuuuuve my morning coffee, it just makes me happy picking out my mug, adding my milk (cashew or almond and stirring it with my little spoon.

You have the power to design your life, design it the way you want it…and practice it daily!

What are you? What daily habits do you have now or what to add to your day? Tell us in the comments below!
