Integrity
Integrity is defined as “the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles; moral uprightness” or my personal favorite “the state of being whole and undivided”.
Most of us have a very high integrity in many areas of our life and strive to keep our “word” to so many people around us…but we don’t have the same integrity when it comes to ourselves. We compromise ourselves our or needs in order to please the people in our lives…and this is no bueno! It is so not good because by doing/saying/acting in a way that others want even though we don’t really want to we damage that relationship and ourselves in small and sometimes big way (more about this in the video).
In this Facebook Live, I share a recent situation that I found myself in where everything about my body, thoughts and even schedule was telling me STOP, that I was out of integrity with myself and my true desires and values….
BTW – why do still frames always look like this ↑ ?! Why can’t I look like a stunning bombshell in the freeze frame instead of like a drunk ferret?! Well, aaaaanywho…
Here are some main take-Aways:
– If something doesn’t feel right, then it’s probably not right and you should validate that feeling and STOP doing said something.
– Don’t keep doing something to try to preserve someone’s feelings, because you will end up losing in the end. Also, give other people credit for honoring your needs. This is also a breeding ground for resentments, and nothing is more toxic to a relationship than resentments
– Stop being so busy all the time. If you are too busy and if you feel you don’t have any space in your “busy” schedule to recharge, then there is a a breakdown somewhere and you have to make some changes or you are going to burn out.
a Bonus not discussed in the FB live…
- Maintaining high integrity with yourself is also great because it acts as a sift in your life. When you do this, you alll the people that are going to align with your true integrity and values will stay, and everyone else will fall away like sand through a sifter. And it will also create space in your life for new really awesome relationships to enter!
